Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills
- Ability to adapt in a dynamic, high-acuity Progressive Care Unit environment
- Preferred: Trauma or orthopedic nursing experience
- Preferred: Experience with Meditech electronic medical records
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to progressive care and stepdown patients
- Monitor telemetry patients and perform frequent reassessments
- Care for patients with surgical, neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and post-operative conditions
- Manage IV therapies and drips according to patient needs and clinical protocols
- Perform routine vital sign checks and thorough nursing assessments
- Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Float as needed within similar stepdown service lines based on unit needs
