GLC On-The-Go is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Bangor, Maine.
Join a leading acute-care hospital in Bangor, ME, as a Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, caring for a diverse patient population. We are seeking dedicated RNs with a passion for providing high-quality patient care.
About the Facility: This facility is a Level II Trauma Center with a capacity of 411 beds, providing critical care and support for various medical conditions. It is equipped to handle complex cases and offers a supportive environment for healthcare professionals.
Patient Types: The PCU cares for a range of patients, including those with cardiac and medical conditions, post-operative general surgery or trauma, and more. Experience with long-term tracheostomy patients on ventilators is essential, as well as familiarity with conditions such as sepsis, stroke, and respiratory failure.
Patient Ratios: RN to patient ratios are 1:3-4 for both days and nights, with a tech ratio of 1:6.
Required Certifications: Candidates must possess BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications, along with PCU-level RN skills. Experience with trached patients on vents is crucial, including knowledge of administering 100% FiO2 and performing trach care and suctioning.
Key Responsibilities:
Support on the Unit: The unit is supported by a resource nurse available 24/7, with access to RT and PT/OT services during the week. Floating to ED, ICU, or CCU may be required based on patient needs.
