  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
  • Floating: May float to MedSurg, Stepdown, COVID, and ER holding
  • Unit Setting: 40-bed PCU with telemetry-focused care
  • Charting System: Cerner

Job Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of progressive care, stepdown, telemetry, or PCU nursing experience
  • Experience caring for patients receiving titratable or cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, dobutamine, insulin drips, heparin, bumex, or Lasix
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Strong ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced acute care environment
  • Flexible, positive attitude with a compassionate and team-oriented approach
  • Ability to adapt to floating assignments as needed

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality care for progressive care patients with cardiac and medical complexity
  • Monitor and manage patients with CHF, MI, chest pain, arrhythmias, pulmonary hypertension, valvular disease, endocarditis, DKA, and post-cardiac procedure needs
  • Administer and titrate cardiac and critical medications in accordance with patient needs and unit protocols
  • Perform and support bedside cardioversion and other unit-based advanced care activities
  • Collaborate with charge nurses, PCTs, and interdisciplinary team members to maintain safe patient flow and quality outcomes
  • Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting unit standards and documentation requirements
