Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift position requiring cardiac drip and stroke/neuro experience.

Details

  • PCU setting caring for cardiac drip, stroke/neuro, trach care, thoracic surgery, IR procedural, and post-op patients
  • Telemetry work setting
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:30), with 4x12 options available
  • Weekend requirement
  • No on-call requirement
  • 30-minute meal break
  • Required to float to 9 BT units plus overflow areas, with rare floating to a facility approximately 30 minutes away

Requirements

  • Active Illinois RN license in hand required (no emergency or pending licenses accepted)
  • BLS certification required through AHA
  • ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
  • 2 years of RN experience required
  • BSN required
  • 1 year of direct relevant experience required
  • Skills checklist and 2 professional references required, with one reference from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the last year
  • All RTO must be submitted with the application and cannot be added afterward

Additional Information

  • Provide nursing care for PCU patients including cardiac drip management, stroke/neuro monitoring, trach care, and post-surgical patients
  • May be required to float to a different unit or facility upon manager request
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • Candidates with prior employment at the health system or its acquired facilities must disclose this employment history
