Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMC) role requiring at least 2 years of current IMC experience and a NC or compact RN license.

Details

  • Hospital-based Progressive Care Unit (PCU/IMC) within a flexible staffing pool supporting all inpatient units and ED overflow patients
  • Night shift, 7:00pm to 7:00am, 3 shifts per week (36 hours/week, 12-hour shifts)
  • On-call required for 1 shift per pay period if census drops
  • Every other weekend (EOW) required
  • Skills utilized include tele monitoring, IV/PICC line care, IV insertion, tube care, and port access
  • Performs bedside point of care testing as part of patient care

Requirements

  • Active RN license in North Carolina (NC or compact) required
  • Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required
  • Minimum of 2 years current IMC experience required
  • Must be willing to accept IMC patients
  • Minimum of 1 year overall nursing experience required
  • ADN, ASN, or Nursing Diploma required; BSN or MSN preferred
  • NIHSS certification required
  • PCU/IMC skills checklist required for consideration

  • Delivers competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards in a hospital setting
  • Coordinates and implements individualized patient care plans using the nursing process
  • Participates in discharge planning, patient/family education, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Engages in performance improvement activities and effective use of communication systems
  • Promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment
  • Holiday coverage required (EOH)
