Description

American Traveler is hiring a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN with telemetry experience for a 13-week assignment requiring at least 1 year of PCU experience and a TN or compact RN license.

Details

  • Progressive Care Unit/Stepdown setting with 36-bed capacity
  • Cares for patients requiring continuous BiPAP, low-dose vasopressors, trauma care, lumbar drains, CIWA protocols, emergency dialysis, hyperkalemia, antifreeze ingestions, home vents/trachs, sheath removal, CEA, rhabdomyolysis, Precedex and fentanyl drips, and stroke patients requiring Q2 neuro checks
  • Treats stable craniotomy patients
  • Serves young adult through late adult patients (ages 18-60+)
  • Nurse to patient ratio of 3:1
  • 12-hour shifts from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active TN or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certification (AHA) required
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Current license and primary source verification required within 30 days prior to start
  • Must possess a US Social Security Number and provide a US home address

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care within a progressive care/stepdown unit managing complex medical and post-surgical cases
  • COVID-19 vaccination is not required
  • Local candidates accepted, subject to a radius rule that may affect pay rate depending on distance from the facility
  • Travelers should begin discussing extension opportunities with their manager at least 45 days before the assignment end date
  • Submission limited to one Ascension position system wide
