Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Oncology unit requiring OH or compact RN license and dedicated stepdown/PCU patient care experience.

Details

  • 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit specializing in oncology and hematology patients
  • Mixed acuity unit caring for both Med Surg and Advanced Care patients
  • Targeted patient ratios of 1:4, with potential to be 1:5-6
  • Frequent exposure to blood products, chemotherapy, drips, PCAs, and wound care
  • Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
  • 36 or 48 hour schedules available, no block scheduling
  • Required to float to all Stepdown/Advanced Care units and potentially across Premier Health campuses within 15 miles
  • Must work a minimum of every other weekend and every other holiday
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active OH RN license or compact RN license required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required, with ability to read and interpret EKG strips
  • OCN certification preferred
  • Minimum 1.5 years of RN experience required
  • Must have Stepdown or PCU experience specifically listed in work history; ICU experience does not qualify
  • Oncology experience required
  • Sickle cell experience and chemo certification preferred but not required
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment prior to starting assignment
  • Skilled in interpretation of dysrhythmias and IV therapy/infusions, including starting and maintaining IVs

Additional Information

  • RNs with ONS Certification administer chemotherapy on this unit
  • N95 fitting required prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is provided
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Winter contract options of 13 or 18 weeks available
  • Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract, must be requested at time of submittal with no changes after offer
  • Local radius is 50 miles; local candidates are not accepted
  • First-time travelers are not required but travel experience is preferred
