Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult Oncology PCU and Trauma PCU patients.
• Manage patients with complex medical and oncology-related conditions in an 18-bed PCU.
• Monitor patients closely and recognize changes in clinical condition.
• Administer and manage medications, including chemotherapy, Heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix.
• Occasionally titrate Insulin and Cardizem drips as required.
• Monitor patients receiving high-flow oxygen and provide appropriate respiratory care.
• Perform assessments, medication administration, patient education, and ongoing monitoring.
• Use EPIC for accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing assistants, PT/OT, case managers, social workers, educators, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports.
• Float to other Med-Surg and PCU units while maintaining the appropriate level of care.
• Provide compassionate care to oncology patients throughout their treatment journey.
• Maintain patient safety, infection-control standards, and hospital policies.

Requirements Active RN license required for submission. Minimum 1 year of RN experience required. Strong PCU experience required. Oncology experience preferred, but strong PCU experience may be considered. BLS and ACLS (AHA) required. ONS/ONCC certification preferred, not required. Chemotherapy certification preferred, not required. First-time travelers are accepted. Charge nurse experience not required. EPIC experience preferred. Must be comfortable managing high-acuity PCU patients and common drips. Must be willing to work 12-hour night shifts: 6:30 PM–7:00 AM. Every other weekend required. Must be willing to float to other Med-Surg/PCU units. BSN not required. Must pass the clinical interview and manager interview. Must pass the open-book skills exam with a minimum score of 90% during Friday orientation. Artificial nails are prohibited in patient-care departments. Must meet the 50-mile radius rule and CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity employment restrictions. Driver's license required at submission for radius verification.
