Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float position requiring 1 year of step-down/PCU experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Float pool position within the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) of a hospital setting
• May be required to float to another affiliated hospital within walking distance of the primary facility
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:30, 36 hours per week
• Weekends may be required
• Cares for cardiac telemetry and step-down/PCU patients
• Performs IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Utilizes EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of step-down/PCU nursing experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• IV therapy and telemetry skills required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or supervisor; a Charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

• Provides direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and telemetry within the PCU float pool
• Must complete Ohio BCI & FBI fingerprinting promptly upon accepting an offer, including electronic submission for lifetime background checks
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Former employees eligible for assignment consideration after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of the health system are not eligible for traveler positions at any affiliated location
• RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
