Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU Float position requiring GA or compact licensure and at least 1 year of MS/Tele/PCU experience.

Details

  • Float pool position covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
  • Adult to geriatric patient population
  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5 on PCU and 1:5-6 on MS/MS Tele units
  • Uses Epic (required), Pyxis, and SBAR communication
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Required to work every other weekend (average 6 weekends in a 13-week contract)
  • Floating required across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
  • No on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
  • Previous charge experience preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide care for MS, MS/Tele, and PCU patients including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
  • Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration preferred
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO can be requested during orientation week
  • Holiday coverage required: 1 holiday worked if one falls during assignment, both if two fall during assignment, and two of three if three fall during assignment
  • Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers who cancel or are not approved to return to a facility must complete one assignment outside Piedmont before reapplying
