Description
American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a PCU Float position requiring 1+ year of experience and Epic proficiency, with float coverage across MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units.
Details
- Float pool position covering MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
- Adult to geriatric patient population
- Patient ratios: 1:4-5 PCU and 1:5-6 MS/MS Tele
- Utilizes Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
- Night shift, 3x12 hour schedule (19:00-7:00)
- Every other weekend required (average 6 weekends in a 13-week contract)
- Floating required to all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
- No on-call requirements
Requirements
- Active GA or Compact RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Epic charting system experience required
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Previous charge experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted
Additional Information
- Provide nursing care across cardiac telemetry, MS/Tele, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and related units
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Maximum 7 days RTO per contract, finalized at time of submission
- No schedule or shift change requests permitted once assigned
- Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment (up to 2 of 3 major holidays)
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate
- Previous facility employees must be away for one full year before returning as a traveler
