Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit Float – Olympia, WA 98506

Start Date: October 6, 2026

Location: Olympia, Washington

Schedule: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). This is a 13-week travel assignment at a 325-bed short-term acute care hospital. Patient ratios vary from 1:4 to 1:6 depending on unit acuity. Weekend coverage required; must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).

Highlights:

  • Float pool position supporting multiple units including PCU, medical-surgical, telemetry, and ER boarding patients
  • Dynamic environment with diverse patient populations and clinical scenarios across adult and geriatric care
  • May include charge nurse responsibilities on smaller units, managing staffing needs, bed flow, and coordination
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
  • Epic charting system with 24 hours of orientation provided
  • Opportunity to expand clinical skills across multiple specialties and patient care settings

Requirements:

  • Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license accepted)
  • Minimum 3 years of recent RN experience required
  • Previous charge nurse experience required
  • Must have clinical experience in the United States (Canadian experience alone does not qualify)
  • Experience with patient ratios of 4-6 patients required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Current ACLS and NIHSS certifications required
  • Proficiency in skills including cardiac telemetry, blood product administration, central line management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, vasoactive and cardiac drip management, and wound care
  • Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
  • Willingness to float to sister facilities as needed
