Patient Services Representative – Primary Care (Temp to Perm)

Important Notice
- This is a Temp to Hire contract — only candidates interested in converting to a permanent staff position will be considered
Location
- Primary Care clinic in Plumsteadville, PA
Schedule
- Weekly schedule includes 1 late shift of 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- 3 shifts ranging from 7:45 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturdays alternating every 4 weeks (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
- Will leave early on Thursdays when working a Saturday to maintain 40 hours
- Schedules are available 2 weeks out

- Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Wednesday: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
- Thursday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM
Interview Process
- Interview will be conducted via Microsoft Teams
Position OverviewPatient Service & Scheduling
- Answering patient calls and handling inquiries promptly, following protocols and service standards
- Scheduling appointments (in person or by phone), confirming details, and rescheduling or canceling as needed
- Managing patient arrival and departure activities — collecting copays, obtaining insurance cards, signatures, and referrals, and updating records in the EMR
- Communicating wait times and patient flow to both patients and staff
Financial & Administrative Tasks
- Verifying patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and benefits
- Obtaining pre-authorizations, referrals, and coordinating benefits
Regulatory & Compliance
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and safety
Customer Experience
- Anticipating patient needs and resolving issues promptly
- Building positive relationships with patients, visitors, and staff
Training
- 4-day EPIC training held Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- New hire must pass an assessment at the end of the training week
- 15-minute HIPAA training module required
Compliance Requirements
- Compliance is due on the Wednesday before the start date
- Candidates should be prepared to begin the compliance process immediately upon accepting an offer
- Medicals and drug screens must be started within 72 hours of accepting the offer
- Candidates who do not begin these requirements within 72 hours are at risk of the contract being cancelled
