Job Title: Patient Care Technician Profession: Patient Care Technician Specialty: Patient Care Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM Experience: 2+ years of relevant experience required License: Active state license required at submission Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - Previous charge experience preferred - Charting system experience required - Experience with Cerner preferred - Travel experience required - Must be able to work both weekdays and every other weekend Description: Patient Care Technician with 2+ years of experience is required. Schedule includes 5 days of 8-hour shifts and occasional weekends. No background or license issues are acceptable. Modules are required and must be completed within the first week of the assignment. Any missed shifts due to call-outs must be compensated at the end of the contract. Travelers must seek clearance before reporting for the first day. Patient care responsibilities include assisting with ambulation, feeding, and safe patient transfers. Additional skills required include measuring and recording intake and output, obtaining vital signs, and phlebotomy. Experience in caring for patients across different age groups, including neonates, adolescents, and adults, is essential. Interdisciplinary support services such as phlebotomy and social services are provided. Patients may present with various diagnoses, requiring flexibility and adaptability in care. Every other weekend and holiday availability is mandatory. One holiday off is guaranteed, with preferences considered based on facility needs. Compliance with all pre-start requirements is necessary prior to the start of the assignment. Travelers are required to have no license or background hits. Returning travelers must have been separated from previous roles for at least one year. Completion of any pre-start modules prior to orientation is expected.
