Job Title: Pathologist Assistant Profession: Laboratory Specialty: Pathology Technician Duration: 17 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (09:00 - 17:30) Experience: Minimum of 3 years of surgical pathology experience License: Must have a permanent Ohio license Certifications: Must be certified by an accredited PA school Must-Have: Certified Pathologists Assistant from a NAACLS accredited PA training program Description: Monday to Friday opening working 9 AM to 5:30 PM. No weekends or call required. Performs gross description and dissection of human tissue surgical specimens for examination, holding, and transport/shipment. Assists with the preparation of freshly removed surgical specimens for cytologic studies. Assumes responsibility for good documentation practices and maintains clear and legible records. Is delegated by the Technical Supervisor to perform high complexity laboratory testing in a compliant manner, such as specimen grossing. Follows laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
