Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced emergency medical care to patients in pre-hospital and emergency situations
  • Perform rapid and comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriate treatment and transport needs
  • Provide advanced life support (ALS) interventions within scope of practice and established EMS protocols
  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, and other critical patient indicators
  • Administer medications and perform emergency medical procedures as authorized
  • Perform airway management and advanced respiratory interventions when clinically indicated
  • Provide cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, cardioversion, and other emergency cardiac care as required
  • Provide trauma care, including bleeding control, spinal precautions, splinting, and other emergency interventions
  • Provide emergency care to adult and pediatric patients
  • Safely transport patients while continuously monitoring and reassessing their condition
  • Communicate patient status and treatment information effectively to receiving facilities and healthcare professionals
  • Complete accurate and timely patient care reports and clinical documentation
  • Inspect, maintain, and restock emergency medical equipment, medications, and supplies
  • Participate in emergency preparedness, disaster response, and incident command activities as required
  • Follow EMS protocols, OSHA standards, HIPAA regulations, infection prevention practices, and patient safety requirements
  • Maintain professionalism and compassion when working with patients and families during stressful or emergency situations
Required Certifications & Credentials
  • Current NREMT Paramedic Certification
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Current AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Current ITLS or PHTLS
  • ICS 100
