Description

American Traveler is seeking a PACU RN with active MA licensure and Epic charting experience to care for pediatric and adult patients recovering from ophthalmology, ENT, and head and neck surgical procedures.

Details

  • Phase I PACU setting within a hospital environment
  • Cares for pediatric and adult patients following ophthalmology, otolaryngology (ENT), and head and neck surgical procedures
  • Surgical complexity ranges from routine outpatient cases to complex airway, microvascular reconstruction, and head and neck oncologic surgery
  • Transitions patients to Phase II recovery, inpatient units, or intensive care based on clinical needs
  • Schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts or three 12-hour shifts, day/evening rotation
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license required; conditional or pending licenses not accepted
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA only)
  • Primary source license verification required within 30 days of start, updated upon expiration
  • Both NURSYS and BON verification required for nursing license
  • Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

Additional Information

  • Provide evidence-based post-anesthesia nursing care using advanced assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Monitor for and manage post-operative complications to ensure safe patient transition
  • Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, with a reduced rate applying
  • Boston-area parking is not validated; candidates should plan for public transportation or paid parking
