Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PACU position requiring compact/IA licensure, EPIC experience, and current pediatric care experience.

Details

  • Hospital-based PACU unit with 12 beds
  • Patient population includes all types, with 2:1 nursing ratios
  • Utilizes drips and titrations for patient care
  • Requires strong telemetry reading and measurement skills
  • Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday, 4x10 hour shifts with a rotating day off
  • Flexible start times between 0900-1200, totaling 40 hrs/week
  • Weekend rotation every other weekend, as needed
  • On-call as needed, though no formal call requirement currently in place

Requirements

  • Active RN license, Iowa (IA) or compact/multistate, required at time of consideration
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA) required
  • Minimum of 12 months PACU/post anesthesia care experience required
  • 24 months of current PACU/post anesthesia care experience preferred on work history
  • Experience in hospital, medical center, same day surgery, or outpatient surgery settings accepted
  • Current/recent pediatric care experience required
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Strong telemetry reading and measurement experience required
  • Drips/titration experience required
  • Driver's license required for consideration
  • Professional reference from a supervisor/manager within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide post-anesthesia nursing care across a varied patient population
  • Required to work 1-2 of 3 winter holidays unless the unit is closed
  • Hospital-provided scrubs
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN) may be restricted from travel assignments in other markets within 12 months of separation
  • First-time travelers may be considered based on skills and experience
