Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a PACU/Cardiac Holding Area position requiring prior Cath Lab or PACU experience and EPIC EMR proficiency.

Details

  • Works in the Cardiac Holding Area with float assistance to Vascular Holding and possibly Diagnostic Cardiology
  • Unit has 19 pre/post rooms with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3
  • Cares for pre/post cardiac cath and possibly EP patients, including groin and radial site management
  • Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8 hour shifts beginning as early as 0600 with possible later starts based on case load
  • 40 hours per week with no weekend or on-call requirements
  • Holiday rotation required unless the unit is closed
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (IA or Compact) required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification (AHA)
  • Minimum 15 months of Cath Lab, critical care, and/or PACU experience in a hospital or medical center setting
  • Pre and post-op/recovery experience required
  • Groin and radial site management experience required
  • TR band management experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • 24 months of current Cardiac Cath Lab, PACU, or Pre/Post Op Surgery experience reflected in work history
  • Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months highly preferred
  • Valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide post-anesthesia and pre/post cardiac cath care including monitoring and site management
  • Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming winter holidays unless the unit is closed
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
  • First-time travelers welcomed with at least 36 months of relevant experience
  • Past UPH employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments in another UPH market within 12 months of separation
