Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a CA RN license and Epic charting experience.

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Patient ratio experience of 1:2
  • Teaching hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred
  • CCRN, NIHSS, and TCAR certifications preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide pre- and post-operative recovery care for surgical patients in a PACU setting
  • Care for patients across a wide range of surgical specialties including cardiac, neuro/spine, ortho, GI, urology, plastics, and vascular
  • Perform pre-op assessments, patient education, and post-op medication reconciliation
  • Manage airway, respiratory, and cardiovascular care including intubation, ABG interpretation, and arterial line management
  • Administer and monitor procedural sedation, IV vasopressors, and reversal agents
  • Utilize skills in wound vac care, PCA pump management, and pain assessment
  • No on-call responsibilities required
  • Shift schedule includes 3x12-hour day shifts with Friday start times varying between 0700-1030 and weekend shifts starting at 0700
  • Must reside within a 50-mile radius to be eligible for the local pay rate
  • Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before being eligible to return as a traveler
  • Only one holiday may be requested off per contract, with recognized holidays including New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
