Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 3 years of RN experience
  • At least 1 year of travel PACU experience
  • At least 1 year of experience in an academic medical center
  • Strong knowledge of PACU nursing, post-operative recovery, and perioperative care
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff
  • Must meet onboarding, credentialing, and compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, compassionate PACU nursing care to patients recovering from anesthesia
  • Monitor vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and overall post-op recovery
  • Assess patient readiness for transfer or discharge from the post-anesthesia care unit
  • Communicate clearly with surgical, anesthesia, and perioperative care teams
  • Respond quickly to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns when necessary
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation throughout the recovery process
  • Support efficient patient flow in a high-acuity hospital environment
