Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a day-shift assignment requiring recent pediatric care and strong telemetry/drips-titration experience.

Details

• Hospital-based PACU unit with 12 beds
• All patient population types cared for, including pediatrics
• Patient ratio of 2:1
• Uses Epic EMR
• Day shift, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts with flexible start times between 0900-1200
• 40 hours per week
• Every other weekend required, as needed
• No formal on-call requirement currently, but as-needed call may apply
• Scrubs provided by the hospital

Requirements

• Active RN license (Iowa or Compact/Multistate)
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification (AHA)
• Minimum of 12 months PACU/post anesthesia care experience required
• 24 months of PACU/post anesthesia care experience required on resume/work history
• Experience in a hospital, medical center, same-day surgery, or outpatient surgery setting required
• Recent pediatric care experience required
• Strong experience reading and measuring telemetry required
• Drips and titration experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Driver's license required for consideration
• Skills checklist specific to PACU required
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care to patients across all age groups and case types
• Required to work 1-2 of the 3 winter holidays unless the unit is closed
• Limited to 1 day off request during the November 26-30 and December 23-January 2 holiday periods
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility, based on driver's license
• Prior UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) may be restricted from travel assignments in other markets within 12 months of separation
• First-time travelers may be considered based on skills and experience
