Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a teaching hospital position requiring Epic experience and 1-2 years of specialty experience.

Details

• Work in PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 recovery across two hospital locations (main hospital and Day Surgery Center)
• 12-hour day shifts with multiple start time options between 0530-2330
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Floating required between the main hospital and Day Surgery Center
• No on-call requirements
• Weekend shifts as needed per unit needs
• Level 3 trauma teaching hospital with 317 staffed beds

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license accepted
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS (NIHSS also required, PALS preferred)
• 1-2 years of PACU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic (Excellian) charting experience required
• Skills in airway assessment, extubation, chest tube management, and ABG interpretation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, arterial lines, and post-cath lab procedures
• Experience with IV therapy, central line care, and blood product administration
• Pre/post-op care skills including patient assessment, education, and discharge instructions
• MN state fingerprinting (LiveScan) required with no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide PACU/Pre-Op/Phase 2 recovery care across multiple surgical specialties including neuro, ortho, cardiac, and general surgery
• Care for patients undergoing procedures such as craniotomy, spine surgery, total joint replacement, and vascular surgery
• Support patients receiving various anesthesia types including general, spinal, and MAC
• Scrubs provided by the unit
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible unless applying for a radiology position
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Returning staff must have a 3-month gap since last worked as perm staff or per diem
• RTO ideally limited to no more than 5 days
• Facility does not provide references to travelers post-assignment or to former perm employees
