Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring KY or compact RN license, 2 years of PACU experience, and Epic proficiency.

Details

  • Work in a friendly, self-contained surgical unit with 6 pre/post beds and 2 ORs
  • Average patient ratio of 2:1
  • Common procedures include lithotripsy, cystoscopy, and TURP/TURBT
  • Medications administered include Fentanyl, Versed, and Dilaudid
  • Day shift schedule of 7a-7p, 3 days per week for 36 hours
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • On-call required, including one weekday shift from 7p-11p and weekend on-call no more than every 6th Saturday/Sunday 7a-7p
  • Surgical scrubs provided

Requirements

  • Active KY or Compact RN license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU RN experience required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Pre-op experience preferred
  • Pre/post-anesthesia or circulator experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV insertion, sedation administration, trach care, and CBI
  • Ability to read telemetry and titrate medications

  • Deliver patient- and family-centered care with a focus on safe, quality outcomes
  • Perform patient assessments and reassessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and coordinate patient/family education
  • Serve as a mentor or preceptor to licensed and non-licensed staff
  • Delegate tasks appropriately while supporting teamwork and quality improvement initiatives
  • Participate in regulatory compliance and practice governance activities
