Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PACU RN for a fast-paced post-anesthesia unit requiring an active IL license and prior PACU/ASU recovery experience.

Details

  • Fast-paced PACU unit recovering Cath Lab, GI, IR, and surgical patients
  • Covers pre-op, post-op, and Phase 1 PACU care
  • Evening shift with 10-hour shifts, flexible start times (10am or 11am)
  • Floating required within the PACU department
  • No on-call requirements
  • No holiday requirements

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (American Heart or American Red Cross accepted for BLS)
  • Minimum 3+ years of core staff experience in an acute care setting
  • At least 2 successful travel contracts required
  • Required experience in PACU, ASU recovery, and Cardiac Cath recovery
  • EPIC EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history
  • Updated skills checklist required for consideration
  • 2 current professional references required from a PACU Supervisor/Manager/Charge within the last year, at least one from a travel assignment preferred

Additional Information

  • Recover patients from Cath Lab, GI, IR, and surgical procedures across pre-op, post-op, and Phase 1 PACU phases
  • Punctuality is essential; tardiness is not tolerated in this department
  • Looking for a seasoned, team-oriented PACU nurse with a positive attitude
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • Returning permanent or per diem staff must have been away for 12 months before being considered for a travel assignment
  • New graduates will not be considered for this position
