Job Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred for this PACU RN role
• Recent Pre-Op and PACU experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred
• NIHSS preferred
• Level I trauma or outpatient surgery experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Active compact or Ohio state RN license in hand at time of submission
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required, including one from a manager, director, or supervisor
• RTO must be disclosed at submission and included in the contract

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the pre-op and PACU areas
• Monitor adult patients recovering from anesthesia after complex surgical procedures
• Support recovery for cardiac and vascular cases such as CABG, AAA repair, TAVR, EVAR, bypass procedures, angiograms, pulmonary decortication, and ablation
• Perform comprehensive pre-op assessments and patient education
• Manage airway needs, IV therapy, blood products, and cardiac monitoring as appropriate
• Recognize and respond quickly to post-operative changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe patient flow
• Maintain accurate documentation in the Epic EHR system
• Participate in call coverage and flexible scheduling as needed
