Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Nurse for a PACU position at an outpatient surgery center, requiring 2+ years of PACU Phase I and II experience.

Details

  • Multi-specialty outpatient surgery center setting including Cataracts, GI, Pain Management, Sports Medicine, Hand Surgery, and Podiatry
  • Recovery room care for post-operative patients ranging in age from 11 months to 100 years
  • Cases performed under MAC, General, Local, and IVCS anesthesia
  • RN will perform both Phase I and Phase II recovery in the same bay
  • Day shift schedule, 07:30-15:30
  • No weekend, holiday, floating, or on-call requirements

Requirements

  • Active IL RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred
  • American Heart Association certifications accepted; American Red Cross accepted for BLS only
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU Phase I and II required
  • Epic EMR experience required and must be reflected in employment history
  • Two current professional references from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge nurse in the relevant area, within the last year
  • Travel reference preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide post-anesthesia recovery care across both Phase I and Phase II for a diverse surgical patient population
  • Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
  • Returning permanent or per diem staff must have a 12-month break in service to be eligible as a traveler
  • RTO limited to a maximum of 3 days for this 6-week contract length
