Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU night shift position requiring 2+ years of PACU experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • Inpatient Phase I PACU setting
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM), 36 hours per week
  • Potential for weekend shifts, including holiday coverage
  • No on-call responsibilities at this time

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Experience with post-anesthesia care for surgical cases including bariatric, cardiac, ENT, general, GYN, neuro, ophthalmology, ortho, and vascular procedures
  • Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
  • Experience with ventilated patient care and respiratory management
  • Knowledge of anesthesia types including general, local, MAC, nerve blocks, post-epidural management, and spinal
  • Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management skills
  • Neurological monitoring experience, including EVD and ICP monitoring, preferred
  • Experience administering IV vasopressors, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents
  • Knowledge of Malignant Hyperthermia Protocol, pain assessment/management, PCA pump management, and RASS
  • Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
  • Charting system experience required (any system)
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor and the second from a charge RN or higher; no coworker references accepted

  • Provide comprehensive post-anesthesia care to surgical patients across a wide range of specialties
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible to be hired as a traveler
  • RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
