Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring 2 years of experience and current ACLS certification.

Details

  • Work in the PACU Recovery Room providing specialized post-anesthesia nursing care
  • Monitor patients recovering from surgical and diagnostic procedures
  • Manage pain and nausea while identifying complications during the immediate post-anesthesia period
  • Day shift schedule from 08:00 to 17:00

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA)
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred
  • PACU, ICU, critical-care, ED, or perioperative nursing experience preferred
  • PALS certification preferred for pediatric patients
  • CPAN or CAPA certification preferred
  • Strong assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and emergency-response skills
  • Nursys license verification required within 30 days prior to start

Additional Information

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans while communicating patient condition to the healthcare team
  • Serve as primary coordinator across disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care
  • Assess and coordinate discharge planning needs with the healthcare team
  • Follow Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required
  • Work with minimal supervision in a stressful, fast-paced environment
  • COVID vaccination is not required
  • Radius rule applies, allowing local candidates at a reduced rate depending on distance from the facility
