Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Seasonal Travel PACU position requiring 2 years of critical care/PACU experience and PALS/ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications.

Details

• Work in a PACU unit spanning Main, Surgical Robotics, and Orthopedic Surgery Center bays, totaling 59 combined Pre-Op/PACU bays
• Staff float between all PACU areas as needed
• Unit staffed by approximately 70 team members including RNs, patient care techs, and Pre-Admit Clinic staff
• Patient ratios of 1 RN to 2 patients, with up to 3 same-day surgery patients per RN, staffed per ASPAN standards
• Uses GE Monitors for patient monitoring
• Meditech EMR system in use
• Evening shift from 3:30 PM to 4:00 AM
• Night shift staffed with 2 RNs
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of critical care and/or PACU experience required
• Required certifications: PALS, ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Stroke care experience preferred
• No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide pre-op and post-anesthesia recovery care for a high-acuity patient population including high neuro volume, stroke patients, and interventional radiology cases
• Care for patients undergoing TAVR procedures and critical care overflow
• Support surgical specialties including spine, general, GI, colorectal, total joints, GYN, and robotics cases
