Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) position requiring an active MI license and 2+ years of PACU experience.

Details

  • Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit of a full-service hospital with a level II trauma center and Comprehensive Stroke Center
  • Monitor and maintain respiratory and cardiac status of patients recovering from anesthesia
  • 12-hour day shifts with variable start times between 10a-11a to 10:30p-11:30p
  • Occasional weekend coverage required
  • On-call required, most likely one night per week with occasional weekend coverage
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active Michigan (MI) RN license required, compact license not accepted
  • Current BLS certification (AHA)
  • Current ACLS certification (AHA)
  • 2+ years of PACU experience required
  • Skills checklist pertinent to PACU specialty, current within 1 year, required for consideration
  • 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Assess patients' needs and provide skilled nursing services per physician-authorized plan of care
  • Provide direct patient care including medication administration, treatments, and responding to alarms
  • Evaluate treatment plan effectiveness and collaborate with team to update care plans
  • Process and follow up on physician orders accurately and in a timely manner
  • Navy blue scrub color required
  • Accepts local candidates at the same rate as travel, though local travelers may only complete one assignment
  • No more than 5 days of RTO can be requested during the assignment
