Join our team as a Travel RN in the PACU (Post-Anesthesia Care Unit) at a leading acute-care hospital in Richmond, VA. We are seeking dedicated and skilled Registered Nurses to provide exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with a supportive team while delivering high-quality patient care.

Unit Information:

  • Number of Beds: 19 Main PACU, 4 Beds in Atrium PACU
  • Number of Staff: 13 Full-time RNs, Clinical Coordinator, Department Assistants
  • Patient Ratios: 2:1, 1:1 for unstable ICU, 1:1 for pediatric patients
  • Type of Equipment: Ventilators, Phillips and GE monitors, Sigma spectrum pumps
  • EMR: Meditech

General Information:

The PACU operates with a waterfall schedule for day shifts, with start times at 8:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 12:00 PM. Night shifts require on-call availability after 9:30 PM.

Typical Procedures Performed:

  • Set up PCA pump
  • Drip titration
  • Arterial line blood draw

Skill Set:

  • Must Have: PACU or ICU experience, strong neuro background, and ventilator competency.
  • Preferred: ICU or PACU experience, drip titration skills, and neurosurgery experience.

Best Personality Fit: Candidates should possess good organizational skills, be able to multitask, work well in a team, and be reliable.

Required Certifications: ACLS, PALS

Dress Code: Scrub Color/Attire - navy

Weekends and On-call: On-call during the week from 9:30 PM to 8:00 AM, with weekend call from 7:00 AM to 7:00 AM. Call rotates among staff.
