Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring ICU or PACU background and TX or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in a 26-bed PACU unit located next to the OR on the 2nd floor of the main hospital
  • Varied 12-hour shifts ranging from 9A-9P to 10A-10P
  • Patient ratio of 1:2
  • Charge nurse and float nurse typically staffed on day shift; closed on-call coverage with 2 PACU nurses at night
  • Floating to Day Surgery may be required
  • Uses Meditech EMR
  • On-call responsibilities including one night per week and two weekends during the 13-week contract
  • Cares for general, neuro, oncology, orthopedic, and vascular surgical patients

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PACU or ICU experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Meditech EMR experience required
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide post-anesthesia recovery care across a variety of surgical specialties
  • Follow ASPAN guidelines for unit practice
  • Royal blue or hospital-issued scrubs required
  • Staff described as easygoing and pleasant with state-of-the-art equipment
  • Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
