Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring ACLS, PALS, and prior PACU experience.

Details

• Post Anesthesia Recovery unit with 8 beds plus 1 isolation room
• Patient population includes all ages except neonates, primarily post-op surgical patients recovering from general anesthesia
• Patient ratios per ASPAN standards, ranging from 1:1, 1:2, or 2:1
• Uses cardiac monitors, IV equipment, SCDs, nasal O2, Omni Cell, and blanket warmers
• Meditech EHR experience preferred
• Shift varies between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM, with start and end times rotating among staff
• Call required approximately once per week and every 3-4 weekends
• Floating not typically required but may assist in other surgical services areas as needed
• Every other weekend schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or compact) required
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience required
• ICU experience preferred

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care to surgical patients
• Work within a supportive team environment, with an emphasis on a positive and collaborative attitude
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule
• Must be willing to work 8x5 and 4x10 schedules as needed
• Comply with facility HR dress code policy; no specific scrub color required
• Candidates must live 60 miles or greater from the facility to be considered for travel assignment
• Candidates who have worked permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full-time while on assignment
