This perioperative healthcare professional provides specialized nursing care within the Post Anesthesia Care Unit at a community hospital designated as a Level III trauma center. The role involves managing post-operative recovery for patients undergoing orthopedic, neurosurgery, general, thoracic, podiatry, and gastrointestinal procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort during the critical post-anesthesia period.
Job Details
- Position: PACU Nurse (Post Anesthesia Care Unit)
- Location: Upstate New York (community hospital, Level III trauma center)
- Schedule: Evening shifts, 8 hours per shift, minimum 40 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid state licensure as a Registered Nurse; Graduate of an accredited nursing program; 0 years of experience; Ability to perform assessment/data collection focusing on physiologic, psychological, and cognitive status of patients
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a PACU or post-operative setting is advantageous
- Responsibilities: Perform ongoing and systematic assessments, provide post-anesthesia nursing care, collaborate with healthcare team members, support patient recovery goals, and adhere to standard care protocols
