Job Summary
PACU RN Post Anesthesia Care Unit Location The organization is seeking a registered nurse specialized in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to support high-acuity, high-volume recovery care. This role involves managing patients after various surgeries, including vascular, general, thoracic, gynecology, neuro, orthopedic, kidney transplants, and whipples, with a focus on ventricular drain monitoring and critical post-operative assessments.
Job Details
- Position Description: PACU RN needed for a shift rotation that may start at 0700, 0800, 0900, 1000, 1100, or 1900. The position involves caring for surgical patients, many of whom require ventricular or ICP drain management, vasoactive and sedative drips, chest tubes, and trachs. The unit handles high acuity and volume, with controlled chaos typical during evening hours.
- Required Qualifications: Valid licensure as a registered nurse, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), current CPR certification, at least 1 year of clinical experience in PACU or ICU, and the ability to work a rotating shift schedule.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior ICU and/or high-acuity PACU experience is preferred to manage complex patient needs efficiently.
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Submission Requirements: Candidates must submit their current licensure, certification, and updated resume demonstrating experience relevant to high acuity recovery care.
