Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring Epic experience and readiness to float to pediatric PACU.

Details

• Work in the PACU department of a hospital supporting all major surgical services across 34 ORs on two floors
• Care for pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery patients spanning pediatric and adult populations
• Unit supports high volume of pediatric patients along with cases from Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and pulmonary lab
• Special procedures include regional anesthesia and ECT
• Uses equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein
• Patient ratio is 1:2
• Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• 2-3 scheduled weekends per contract required
• Candidates must be comfortable floating to pediatric PACU as needed
• No call-in requirement
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (LA state or Compact) required in hand upon submittal
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA certifications required)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in specialty required
• PACU or Pre/Post Op background preferred
• Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

• Provide pre-op and post-op recovery care to surgical and procedural patients of all ages
• May be assigned to an Emergency Team requiring extended presence at the facility during emergency events
• Orientation held five days per week
• Candidates must live more than 65 miles from the facility to be considered
• Local candidates are not accepted
• Previous permanent staff or in-house agency contractors must be separated from the health system for a full year before returning as a traveler
• RTO must be discussed and finalized prior to offer
