Job Summary
Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Nurse position available in Nampa, Idaho. This role involves working within a family-oriented department that emphasizes teamwork and patient safety. The nurse will be responsible for preoperative and postoperative patient care, including managing airways, pain, and recovery from anesthesia, supporting all phases of patient treatment on a shared unit with surgical and endoscopy services.
Job Details
- Location: Nampa, Idaho
- Shift: 8-hour day shifts, with multiple start times between 05:30 AM and 01:00 PM; shifts are typically 10 to 12 hours long.
- Schedule: Day shift with a minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); at least 1 year of experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit or similar setting; licensed to practice as a registered nurse.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic electronic medical record system; ability to read cardiac rhythm strips and identify life-threatening rhythm changes; flexibility to support all areas of the unit including Preoperative, Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery, and support for first-time travelers.
- Responsibilities include preparing patients for surgery, monitoring recovery post-anesthesia, managing airways, pain, and assisting with patient turnover and restocking in a small unit with 18 beds.
- Additional Information: Staff may be asked to float to other areas within the hospital, and orientation includes three days with a preceptor, along with general hospital and departmental onboarding.
- Certification and license submission are required prior to start, with a willingness to wait for licensure if necessary.
