Job Summary
PACU Nurse Post Anesthesia Care Unit Location unspecified. This role involves providing specialized care to patients recovering from anesthesia in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The position requires clinical expertise in post-operative patient management, with a focus on orthopedic, neurological, cardiothoracic, vascular, and general surgeries, among others.
Job Details
- Certifications: RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS required.
- Education Requirements: Not specified, but three to five years of PACU experience and two years of ICU experience are strongly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of PACU experience.
- Location Requirements: Active RN license in Maryland or a valid Compact license.
- Years of Experience: 2.0 years minimum.
- Schedule: Rotating days and nights shifts, 3x12-hour shifts per week (07:30 AM 08:00 PM / 07:30 PM 08:00 AM), with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Qualifications: Experience with patient populations including pediatrics through geriatrics; ability to float within scope; strong clinical skills in airway assessment, ventilated patient care, medication administration, and documenting in Epic or similar charting systems.
- Responsibilities: Managing patient recovery for diverse surgical cases, including orthopedic, neurological, cardiothoracic, vascular, urology, and gynecology. Providing patient education, discharge instructions, and collaborating with interdisciplinary support teams.
- Submission Requirements: Certification of compliance within five days prior to start date; onboarding labs within 72 hours of signing; acceptance without interview for specific units; and readiness to float as required.
