Description

American Traveler is hiring a PACU RN for a night shift assignment requiring Epic experience and prior PACU or Pre/Post Op experience.

Details

• Hospital-based PACU unit supporting all major surgical and procedural populations
• Cares for pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery patients across pediatric and adult populations
• Department covers 34 ORs across two floors, including cysto suites, a shared Pediatric GI/Lithotripsy room, and CT/MRI prep and recovery
• Second floor services cases from Endoscopy, Interventional Radiology, and pulmonary lab with 28 ORs
• High volume of pediatric patients on the first floor
• Floating to pediatric PACU required as needed
• Utilizes specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Night shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts (18:45-7:15)
• 2-3 scheduled weekends per contract
• No call-in requirement
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Compact or LA) in hand required
• Current AHA certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Minimum 3 years of operating room specialty experience required
• PACU or Pre/Post Op background preferred, with Critical Care Post Op experience preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Candidates must live 65+ miles from the facility to be considered

Additional Information

• Provide pre-op and post-op recovery care to surgical and procedural patients of all ages
• Support an emergency response team as assigned by the unit manager during emergency events, with expectations to remain onsite or serve as part of a relief team
• Orientation held five days a week
• RTO must be discussed and finalized prior to starting the assignment
• Candidates must have been separated from the facility's health system for at least one year if previously employed there in a permanent or in-house agency capacity
