Job Summary
Physical Therapist Assistant, Outpatient Physical Therapy, Grandview Heights. This role supports outpatient rehabilitation services by implementing treatment plans, providing therapeutic interventions, monitoring patient progress, and promoting safe, effective patient care. The assignment is structured as a 13-week opportunity with a preference for candidates who have sports population experience.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday; Monday 8:00 a.m.7:00 p.m., Tuesday 7:00 a.m.2:00 p.m., Thursday 8:00 a.m.3:00 p.m., and Friday 7:00 a.m.1:00 p.m.; minimum of 40 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school
- Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) certification
- At least 1 year of outpatient clinical experience
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Special interest in or experience with sports populations
- Additional Information:
- Implements treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the Physical Therapist.
- Provides therapeutic interventions including strengthening, endurance, balance, coordination, joint mobility, pain relief, and functional skills training.
- Trains patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs.
- Demonstrates appropriate guarding, gait belt, and safety techniques.
- Uses and demonstrates therapeutic modalities such as hot and cold packs, whirlpools, paraffin baths, ultrasound, iontophoresis, fluidotherapy, and therapeutic pools.
- Monitors patient responses to treatment and intervenes as necessary.
- Documents patient progress, treatment response, and patient and family education.
- Maintains a clean treatment area and follows safety, infection control, equipment, and clinical practice guidelines.
- Participates in team conferences, interdisciplinary collaboration, quality improvement activities, and continuing professional development.
