Description

American Traveler is seeking an Outpatient Oncology Practice Nurse RN requiring 2 years of oncology/ambulatory experience and an active CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Outpatient oncology clinic setting providing practice nurse (non-infusion) care
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• May float between specialties within scope as needed
• Uses Epic charting system
• No weekend requirements

Requirements

• Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of oncology/ambulatory nursing experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
• BLS certification required
• Chemo (ONS/ONCC) and ONS/ONCC certifications preferred
• Practice nurse, phone triage, and ambulatory care experience required
• Travel nursing experience required
• Prior Level I Trauma Center experience required
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Manage and respond to patient messages via electronic in-basket
• Provide patient education on oncology diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
• Perform phone triage and determine appropriate escalation for outpatient oncology patients
• Coordinate care including tests, referrals, appointments, and ongoing treatment plans
• Support clinic workflows for a designated outpatient oncology team including documentation and follow-up needs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure continuity of care
• Scrub color required: royal blue
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with exemptions only for religious or medical reasons
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
• Returning staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
• RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
