American Traveler is hiring an Outpatient Occupational Therapist with 1+ year experience and an in-hand Lymphedema Certification for a hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation department

Details

  • Hospital-based outpatient rehabilitation department specializing in lymphedema care
  • Work alongside OTs/OTAs, PT/PTAs, SLP, and a wound care clinic
  • Collaborate with compression fitters and lymphedema vendors supporting the lymphedema patient population
  • Treat a diverse population from young/middle adults to geriatrics with a variety of diagnoses
  • Patient ratio of approximately 1:5
  • Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (7:30 AM-6:00 PM)
  • No weekend or call requirements
  • May float within facility and scope of practice to an acute care inpatient unit as needed
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active OT license required at time of submission (license required if applicable)
  • Minimum 1 year of OT experience required
  • Lymphedema Certification required in-hand for consideration
  • NBCOT certification required
  • BLS certification required
  • Community hospital experience preferred
  • Experience with lymphedema management and splinting preferred
  • Skilled in patient/family education, safety and injury prevention, and lifting and transfer techniques
  • Experience with orthopedic conditions including arthritis, hip fracture, and knee injuries preferred

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient occupational therapy services including assessment, evaluation, plan of care, reassessment, and discharge planning
  • Perform lymphedema management and therapeutic splinting as part of routine care
  • Work with adaptive equipment and static, dynamic, and functional splints
  • Support patients with amputee, arthritis, Parkinson's disease, and other progressive neurological conditions
  • First-time travelers will be considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, which must be finalized at time of submission
  • If one or two major holidays fall during the assignment, coverage of those holidays is required with no holiday RTO permitted
  • If three major holidays fall during the assignment, coverage of two holidays is required with one holiday RTO request eligible for review
  • Full compliance required to start on time, as non-compliance results in a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
  • Returning employees must be away from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
