Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for an Outpatient Hematology Oncology Clinic requiring ONS certification and 2 years of hematology/oncology experience.

Details

• Outpatient Clinic Hematology Oncology setting within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hour shifts from 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
• Weekend coverage required as needed
• Floating required
• Duties include triaging phone calls, patient messages, clinic support, pre-authorizations, FMLA processing, and medication refills
• Epic EMR used, experience required

Requirements

• Active or pending CT/Compact RN license accepted
• BLS and ONS/ONCC certification required (Chemo); OCN certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with hematology oncology experience needed
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in IV therapy, port access/management, central line care, and chemotherapy administration
• Experience recognizing and managing oncologic emergencies (ATLS, anaphylaxis, extravasation, sepsis, spinal cord compression)
• Experience with biotherapy, immunotherapy, and bone marrow transplant care preferred
• Skilled in symptom management, psychosocial care, and patient/family education
• Experience with pain management including IV push narcotics and PCA pump management
• Care experience with leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma patients
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• This is a winter coverage assignment for one contract only, with a required start by 12/18/2026
• No holiday RTO permitted, and no more than 5 days of RTO allowed
• Local radius restrictions are waived for this assignment
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with religious/medical exemption only
• Royal blue scrub color required
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Former staff members must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
