Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring 1 year of Ortho & Spine OR experience and an active LA or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute care Operating Room unit with 8 surgical suites averaging 25 cases per day
• Common procedures include Makoplasty total joint replacements (hips & knees), Stryker/Arthrex cases for shoulders, ankles, hands, and podiatry, ALIFs, ACDF, arthroscopies, 360 fusions for scoliosis, spinal cord tumor removal, microdiscs, sports medicine, and pain management cases
• 15 minute turnover times between cases, 30 minutes for robotic cases
• Day shift schedule 6:00am-2:30pm, Monday-Friday
• 1 RN and 1 tech staffed per room, with vendor reps present for implant cases
• Charge nurse functions as a board runner, making assignments and serving as a resource
• Uses CPSI EMR system
• Call requirements include 2 call days per week (1st call 16 hours, 2nd call 4 hours), with call response time of 30 minutes to 1 hour
• Weekend call required approximately 1 weekend every 8 weeks
• Holiday coverage is call-only, with holidays rotating among staff
• No floating required

Requirements

• Active RN license (LA state or compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA)
• Minimum 1 year of Ortho & Spine OR experience required
• BSN not required
• Scrubbing not required for RNs
• Must be able to work independently and confidently in a room
