Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts, 7:00–17:30 | On-call required (1 shift per week and 2 twelve-hour weekend shifts per month)

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as scrub and/or circulating RN for liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures, including implantation of organs into recipient patients
  • Assist with additional OR cases (general, vascular, etc.) when transplant cases are not scheduled
  • Participate in liver call coverage as assigned
  • Demonstrate proficiency with Misonix/CUSA ultrasonic surgical devices
  • Utilize EPIC electronic health record system for accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license (pending license considered)
  • Minimum 2 years of direct liver/transplant OR RN experience; experience must include organ implantation into recipient patients — harvesting experience alone does not meet this requirement
  • Strong demonstrated experience in liver, heart, lung, and kidney transplant procedures
  • Current AHA or American Red Cross BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of submission
  • NIHSS certification required prior to start date
  • Must be nicotine-free; negative 10-panel plus nicotine (cotinine) drug screen required
  • All requested time off must be disclosed at time of submission — requests added after submission will likely not be approved
  • Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience charting in EPIC
  • Background in a teaching hospital or high-acuity acute care environment
  • Familiarity with transplant program protocols and time-sensitive surgical workflows
