Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level I Trauma Center requiring EPIC experience and general OR and trauma case expertise.

Details

  • Operating Room department within a Level I Trauma Center
  • Primarily adult patient population
  • 1:1 patient ratio
  • Straight evening shift schedule (11a-11p), 4x12 hours
  • Weekend and weeknight call required in 8-hour blocks (7a-3p, 3p-11p, 11p-7a)
  • Up to 4 weeknight calls and 2 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • No floating required

Requirements

  • Active Michigan (MI) RN license required; compact licenses not accepted
  • Minimum 1 year of OR nursing experience required
  • BLS and CAC certifications required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • General OR and trauma surgery experience required
  • Two supervisory references required (charge nurse references not accepted)
  • Full 7-year work history with all employment gaps explained
  • Flu vaccination required with no medical or religious exemptions; allergy-free vaccine option available if needed

Additional Information

  • Provide perioperative nursing care across general OR, trauma, plastics, orthopedic, general surgery, urology, bariatric, and robotic surgery cases
  • Experience with Da Vinci and Mako robotic surgical systems is relevant
  • Familiarity with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana Table equipment is beneficial
  • All required certifications must be obtained prior to the assignment start date
  • All requested time off must be submitted upfront, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the travel rate
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former permanent employees may return as travelers after one year away from the facility
  • Candidates employed by the facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
  • Traveler pairs are not accepted
