Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN Circulating Nurse for an Operating Room position at a small community hospital, requiring at least 5 years of OR circulating experience and on-call availability.

Details

• Operating Room setting within a 100-bed community hospital
• Circulating RN role supporting surgical patients across multiple service lines including Ortho, Urology, OB/GYN, General, and ENT
• Patient ratio is 1:1 for surgical patients
• Uses standard OR equipment and EPIC EMR
• 4x9hr day shifts, 0700-1630, with one rotating day off weekly
• On-call required: one weeknight call per week (1630-0700) and one weekend (48hrs) of call approximately every 6 weeks
• Low census floating to other units for 1:1 coverage may occur on an irregular basis
• Float policy allows floating within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (ME or Compact) required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required for call coverage
• Minimum 5 years of OR circulating experience required
• Experience in a smaller facility OR setting preferred
• Experience across multiple surgical service lines required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Driver's License required for consideration
• Two professional references required

Additional Information

• Function as an OR Circulating Nurse supporting a variety of surgical specialties
• Participate in team-based room turnovers and general unit support as needed
• Join a team-oriented unit that treats travelers and regular staff equally
• Scrubs provided by the OR department
• Small community hospital environment with strong surgeon and anesthesia provider support
• Local candidates within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility will be considered local
• Local travelers are not eligible for renewals or extensions
• RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract
• Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this information
• First-time travelers may be considered for this position
