Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and a Maine or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Operating Room department of a 26-bed unit within a hospital setting
  • 1:1 patient ratios
  • Utilizes Storz, Stryker, Olympus, and Intuitive Robot equipment
  • Charts using Epic EMR
  • Day shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • 1:4 weekend rotation with 12-hour shifts
  • Call requirements include one overnight shift (11 PM-7 AM) for Trauma call
  • Specialty team members (Cardiac, Thoracic, Vascular, Neuro, Ortho) follow call schedules per their specific team rules
  • Float policy applies within a 25-mile radius between facilities as needed

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Maine or Compact) required
  • BLS and other required certifications (AHA certifications must be completed before start date if submitted as non-AHA)
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Operating Room experience required, plus prior travel experience
  • Level 1 trauma experience required
  • Preferred experience in General, GU/GYN, Ortho trauma, Ortho joints, Neurosurgery, ENT, Pediatrics, Plastics, Dental, or Endovascular surgery
  • Epic EMR experience
  • Driver's License required for consideration
  • Two professional references required

Additional Information

  • Provide perioperative nursing care across a variety of surgical specialties in a Level 1 trauma OR environment
  • Ideal candidates are flexible, accountable, timely, and strong team players
  • Teal scrubs are issued by the hospital
  • Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage are prohibited while on the unit
  • RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for the 13-week contract at manager's discretion
  • Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local and are not eligible for renewals or extensions
  • Local candidates are welcome to apply
  • Candidates who have worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months should disclose this during consideration
