Operating Room Nurse (RN)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse (RN) to join our team. This is an urgent backfill position with a focus on providing high-quality care in the operating room setting. The ideal candidate will be available to start as soon as possible, pending compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in the operating room during surgical procedures.
- Assist with patient circulation and recovery in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
- Collaborate effectively with surgical teams in various specialties including General Surgery, GI, OBGYN, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Cataracts, and Podiatry.
- Ensure a safe and sterile environment for surgical procedures.
- Respond to emergencies and provide critical care as needed.
Requirements
- Must have extensive circulating experience in the operating room.
- PACU experience is required.
- Scrub experience is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with surgical cases in General, GI, OBGYN, Orthopedics, ENT, Urology, Cataracts, and Podiatry.
- Prior travel nursing experience is a plus.
Work Schedule
- Shift: 8-hour days from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM with rotation for on-call duties.
- On-call requirement: 1 day per week, and every fifth weekend.
- Weekend on-call: Friday at 3:30 PM to Monday at 7:00 AM.
Certification Requirements
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Active American Heart Association Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Active American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
